Ethos & Value Statement
In December 2022, we decided to have a re-evaluation of our Ethos and Values Statement and after consultation with staff and through our Pupil Voice Assemblies, the whole school voted (in line with British Values) to use our new statement, ’Inspiring, Believing, Achieving’. Please read below to see how this is promoted within Chapel Street Infants and Nursery School.
INSPIRING
- Visitors in school who make notable contributions to society.
- Visits to significant places both locally and nationally.
- Hosting and supporting events and fundraising activities for local and
national charities. - Providing a curriculum that introduces children to inspirational figures
throughout history. - Competing in local competitions for Sport and the Arts to provide children with opportunities to compete and learn from other schools.
- Engaging with local artists to complete whole school projects.
- A range of extra-curricular activities that enhance and enrich the whole school curriculum.
- Visits to local and national theatres.
- Taking part in training sessions with local sports teams/persons.
- Stimulating learning environments and continuous provision.
- Outdoor learning opportunities.
- Ongoing development of facilities and resources.
- Peer to Peer Support and involvement.
BELIEVING
- Encourage children to have a growth mindset. Where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities.
Supporting children to try new ideas and activities. - Developing skills across the wider curriculum to challenge themselves in
competitions against other schools from different areas. - Well-Being Wednesdays that encourage children to look after themselves
physically and emotionally. - Emotional support to allow children regardless of background to share and
reach their expectations. - SEND support that provides children with the opportunities to experience a
balanced curriculum. - Staff and children who encourage each other to believe in themselves.

and see their ideas come to fruition. - Pre-School and Nursery environment that encourages independence and
